IPC Standards in Practice – J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and the True Nature of Space & Military Quality
This presentation will be in Hungarian!
The aim of this presentation is to provide a comprehensive and accessible overview of the fundamental differences between the IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards, as well as their practical roles in electronics manufacturing.
We will review how IPC-A-610 focuses on the visual inspection and acceptability of printed circuit assemblies, while J-STD-001 defines detailed technological and quality requirements for soldering processes. The presentation will also highlight how the two standards complement each other: one answers the question of “what constitutes an acceptable result,” while the other addresses “how to ensure proper manufacturing.” The topic is particularly timely, as through ELAS Ltd., the J-STD-001 Space and Military Addendum module is now available at IPC trainer level, introducing stricter requirements for aerospace and military applications.
